Throughout April, the youth Sunday School class will be looking at the biblical patriarchs as spiritual pioneers of our faith. We’ll be taking in-depth journeys into the stories of Abram’s move to Canaan, Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac, Isaac’s conflict over wells for his hers, and Jacob’s reconciliation with Esau. Below are this week’s Bible readings

Monday: Revelation 3:19-22

Tuesday: Revelation 2:1-5

Wednesday: 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

Thursday: John 3:25-30

Friday: Genesis 12:1-3

Saturday: Genesis 12:4-9

Sunday: Genesis 13:8-17

Onward Through the Storm

Jesus never promises a storm-free life to His believers. Instead, he offers us refuge and strength as we face the storms of life. If we focus on Him instead of our own strength, and are willing to step out onto the waters, He will be faithful.

This song, by Casting Crowns, really talks about this total dependance that is necessary to get through the storms of life.

God conquered evil His way— He submitted Himself to death on a cross, a death of One who brought life to many. In God’s sight, we are worth dying for. The thought must never grow casual with those of us who have believed. Jesus’ death was a costly one. He died a sinful person’s death and absorbed the full punishment for sinful behavior. The sins were ours, but the death was His.

How can you better serve Him today?
