9/119/11

This month, our unit is “Amazing Faith.”  We’ll be walking through the book of Genesis to see how the patriarchs acted time and time again in complete and total faith in God.  Through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, students will see the relevance of the Bible in today’s modern age and gain helpful insight into how to better utilize it as a resource for everyday living.  The life questions for the month are:9/119/119/119/11

News IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS IN APRIL 2008

We will be having a parents meeting on April 13 directly after the morning worship service at the front of the sanctuary.  Topics will include the summer mission trip, Vacation Bible School, and other special events.

Mission trip decisions need to made before the close of the month.  Please see Daniel for more information.

The youth group will have their own Bible study class at Vacation Bible School this year.  If you are interested in presenting the lesson or giving your testimony one day during the week-long Bible study period, please see Daniel or Lora.  The youth will also assist the recreation teacher throughout VBS week.

There is a sign-up sheet on the foyer bulletin board for Sunday evening snacks for the youth.  Please select a Sunday and sign up if possible.  Thanks!

 John

Following our study of Ezekiel, we’ll be going through Beth Moore’s “John: The Beloved Disciple Youth Edition.”  This is in direct response to many of the questions that our youth have had lately about culturally relevant issues.  This particular study addresses many of them very well and very in-depth.

THE LONG RANGE PLAN for EDUCATING OUR YOUTH

We believe that there are certain core concepts that are essential to living life as a believer in Christ, providing a foundation on which young people can build their lives.  These core ideas are taught throughout all of our Sunday School classes and Youth Group meetings.  These fifteen concepts are:

  1. God
  2. Father
  3. Holy Spirit
  4. Revelation and Authority/the Bible
  5. Creation, Sovereignty, and Providence
  6. Family
  7. Community and World
  8. Church and Kingdom
  9. Humanity/Self
  10.  Salvation
  11.  Discipleship and the Christian Life
  12.  Ethics and Morality
  13.  Reason and Faith
  14.  Rebellion and Sin
  15.  Time and Eternity

Bible

A pamphlet explaining these 15 concepts and their importance in the spiritual development of all Christians is available in the youth room.
